I can't decide. Do I set actual resolutions for the year? Or do I ignore all? Or do I set fluffy things that I know I can complete to give myself a sense of accomplishment?
When I teach a workshop at work, we focus on goal setting. What do we want to do short term, intermediate and long term? Maybe I'll do that.
Short Term Goal: Pay down 50% of my consumer debt within next 12 months
Steps to Accomplishing my goal:
1. Start new part-time job, put 90% of income toward credit card debt.
2. If receiving tax return, use funds to pay off remaining car note.
3. Stop spending needlessly.
4. Commit to spending-free month January 2008.
Short Term Goal: Lose 50 lbs within the next 12 months
Steps to Accomplishing my goal:
1. I honestly have no fricking idea.
2. Do some research so I know where to start, have complete by 1/15/08.
3. Start moving my bod at least a few minutes every day. Jump rope 10 minutes, walk the dog, do yoga. You can do anything for 10 minutes, right? Anything to get this couch potato self in motion.
Long Term Goal: I really want to be fit, healthy and happy by age 35.
That is 18 months from now. Totally do-able. One step at a time.
